Eating with Jesus

During April 2012 I led some Bible studies with people from the Credo community, looking at stories of hospitality in Luke's gospel, and thinking about how these challenge or affirm the way we do hospitality in Credo and elsewhere. During May we also did some of the same studies as part of Urban Seed's Strangers are Fiction campaign, during which we were inviting people to get to know someone better over a meal, like we do in Credo Café. In June we resumed the series with another four Bible studies, and the plan is to continue is August and September.

  1. Controversial eating habits
  2. Eating with the Pharisees
  3. Receiving hospitality
  4. Stressing out about visitors
  5. Table manners and hypocrisy
  6. Food production parables
  7. Eating with patriarchs and prophets
  8. Eating with honour
  9. Family dramas
  10. Poor Lazarus and a rich man
